New Releases

Congratulations to Tullian Tchividjian and our own FaithHappenings Publishers for the release of Jesus + Nothing = Everything.

It’s so easy to forget what the Christian faith is all about. We struggle so much, work so hard, and fail so often that we frequently sense something in the equation of life must be missing. Tullian Tchividjian argues that what we are missing is the gospel—a fuller, more powerful understanding of what the finished work of Jesus means for everyday life. During a year of great turmoil, Pastor Tchividjian discovered the power of the gospel in his own life. Sharing his story of how Jesus became more real to him, Tchividjian delves deeply into the fundamentals of the faith, explaining the implications of Christ’s sufficiency, a revelation that sets us free and keeps us anchored through life’s storms. Ultimately, Tchividjian reminds us that Jesus is the whole of the equation as he boldly proclaims that Jesus plus nothing really is everything.

Congratulations to Kate Crocco and Baker Books on the February 18 release of Thinking Like a Boss: Uncover and Overcome the Lies Holding You Back from Success.

With over 11 million female-owned businesses in the US today, more women than ever are taking the reins to create their own success. Maybe you feel the pull to start a business but deep down you’re afraid that you don’t have what it takes. Maybe you have a great idea but wonder if you’re actually qualified to make it happen. Or maybe you want to expand your business, but you’re worried about how it will affect your family. If that’s you, it’s time to start thinking like a boss.

In this practical and encouraging book, Kate Crocco exposes the 12 limiting beliefs that are holding you back from your true potential, such as

– I should have it all together and I don’t
– I’m not ready or qualified to start
– I don’t have enough time
– It’s already been done before
– and more

With plenty of inspiring true stories and actionable steps you can take–starting now–Thinking Like a Boss will help you turn your limiting beliefs into limitless opportunity.

Congratulations to Jamie Sumner and B&H Publishing Group for the March 3, 2020 release of Eat, Sleep, Save the World: Words of Encouragement for the Special Needs Parent.

An encouraging and empowering read, Eat, Sleep, Save the World reminds every parent of a child with special needs that they are, in fact, superheroes.

Parenting is hard—for everyone. And it takes a lot of inner pep talk and prayer to be the kind of parent your child needs. Eat, Sleep, Save the World is the rallying voice for the parenting special needs community. It highlights the exceptional qualities God has gifted you with, so that you can take care of your exceptional children. It is a celebration, a hallelujah, a high five for what you are doing right. And it offers peace in God for what you feel you lack.

With a mixture of humor, honesty, and hope, Jamie Sumner brings comfort to other parents like herself who need to hear that God has made them more than capable to raise their special kids.

Congratulations to Angie Ward and NavPress for the March 3, 2020 release of I Am A Leader: When Women Discover The Joy of Their Calling.

You feel it, deep in your bones: God is inviting you to join Him, to participate in His redemptive work in the world. And yet, as a woman leader, you face so many potential obstacles. Lack of clarity over your unique calling. Competing time demands. Changing seasons of life. Challenges such as self-doubt, criticism, and spiritual dryness. With nearly 30 years of ministry experience, Angie Ward knows firsthand the unique challenges that women leaders face as they seek to pursue their calling.

In I Am a Leader, Angie explores the concept of “calling” as it applies specifically to women leaders―those women of influence both in Christian ministry and the broader world: What is calling? How do you discover it? And what does it look like to live out that calling practically amid a multitude of challenges?

Thoroughly researched, theologically and biblically integrated, and uniquely personal, I Am a Leader will resonate no matter where you are on the calling journey: whether you are wondering about your God-given purpose; sensing an inkling of an invitation to a particular ministry, or embarking on the path but encountering challenges.

Congratulations to John and Marlene Strege and Kregel on the March 3, 2020 release of A Snowflake Named Hannah: Ethics, Faith, and the First Adoption of a Frozen Embryo.

When John and Marlene Strege learned they wouldn’t be able to have a child, they were devastated. Then Marlene asked the question that would change their lives: Can frozen embryos be adopted? The answer not only gave them their beloved daughter Hannah, it drew all three into a political spotlight they never expected.

Hundreds of thousands of frozen embryos exist, held in stasis because parents using in vitro fertilization have completed their families without them. When scientists discovered a way to extract stem cells from human embryos for disease research and cures, those tiny lives were suddenly at risk. And Hannah, just a few months after this discovery, became the first human face of the growing resistance to this new science. In the first few years of her life, she not only sparked other parents to adopt their own “snowflake babies,” but she also inspired the first frozen embryo adoption program, featured on Focus on the Family (getting a new godfather in Dr. Dobson), attended her mother’s testimony in Congress, and stood at President Bush’s side as he vetoed federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.

This compelling story unfolds at the intersection of faith and family, science and politics. Pro-life Christians, those who have experienced infertility or know those who have, and anyone concerned with where science can lead when moral and ethical concerns are ignored will welcome this book–and the sweet face of the baby who might never have been born.

Congratulations to Dr. Daniel G. Amen and Tyndale for the March 3, 2020 release of The End of Mental Illness: How Neuroscience is Transforming Psychiatry and Helping Prevent or Reverse Mood and Anxiety Disorders, ADHD, Addictions, PTSD, Psychosis, Personality Disorders, and More.

New hope for those suffering from conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addictions, PTSD, ADHD and more.

Though incidence of these conditions is skyrocketing, for the past four decades standard treatment hasn’t much changed, and success rates in treating them have barely improved, either. Meanwhile, the stigma of the “mental illness” label―damaging and devastating on its own―can often prevent sufferers from getting the help they need.

Brain specialist and bestselling author Dr. Daniel Amen is on the forefront of a new movement within medicine and related disciplines that aims to change all that. In The End of Mental Illness, Dr. Amen draws on the latest findings of neuroscience to challenge an outdated psychiatric paradigm and help readers take control and improve the health of their own brain, minimizing or reversing conditions that may be preventing them from living a full and emotionally healthy life.

The End of Mental Illness will help you discover:

  • Why labeling someone as having a “mental illness” is not only inaccurate but harmful
  • Why standard treatment may not have helped you or a loved one―and why diagnosing and treating you based on your symptoms alone so often misses the true cause of those symptoms and results in poor outcomes
  • At least 100 simple things you can do yourself to heal your brain and prevent or reverse the problems that are making you feel sad, mad, or bad
  • How to identify your “brain type” and what you can do to optimize your particular type
  • Where to find the kind of health provider who understands and uses the new paradigm of brain health

Congratulations to Barry H. Corey and Tyndale for the March 3 release of Make the Most of It: A Guide to Loving Your College Years.
